I'm Anil Pesaramelli. Your Voice in HD19.
I’m running to make HD19 more affordable and more livable by showing up, listening to our neighbors, protecting public schools, expanding attainable housing, and fighting for the everyday budgets of working families.
Thank you for standing with me on this journey!
Running for office wasn’t planned, but the community’s needs made it clear. I’m here to bring real change—fairness, honesty, and the persistence our families deserve every day.

This Is Where I Begin
From a One-Room Home to the Colorado House
I was raised in a single-room home in rural India with a leaky roof that reminded us, every monsoon, how fragile stability can be. Discrimination and poverty shaped my earliest memories. My parents sacrificed a lot so that my brother and I could study, because they strongly believed that education could break generational barriers, and it did. My brother and I became the first in my family to graduate from college, then I journeyed 8,448 miles to America with a bag of clothes and a heart full of hope. I earned a Master’s in Chemical Engineering and later an MBA.
Engineer & Problem Solver
Long before politics, my dad showed me what real leadership looks like—working long hours on factory floors, staying steady under pressure, and doing the right thing even when nobody was watching. And I grew up with labor union leaders in our home, sometimes staying until 1 a.m., talking about equality, dignity, and fair wages. Listening to those conversations shaped me. I learned to face problems with calm, compassion, and facts—not noise. The pandemic made that lesson even clearer: leadership isn’t slogans. It’s care. That’s when I decided to serve.
An Entrepreneur Who Lived the Hustle
I’ve chased the small business dream—running a food truck, launching ventures, and sweating payroll when every cent mattered. I know that when a small business is doing well, the whole community feels it: jobs stay local, families have stability, and our main streets stay vibrant. I’ve lived the anxiety of simply trying to make it—covering payroll, keeping the lights on, and stretching every dollar—which is why I’ll fight for policies that help working families and small businesses not just get by, but grow, because I’ve been there, too.
Elected by Neighbors, Driven by Equity
I knocked on more than 4000 doors, and 3992 neighbors put me in this seat on Erie’s Town Council. No big donors, lots of hope and grassroots support. In 2023, I ran for the BVSD School Board and came up short in the election. But 9,000 parents trusted me with their children’s future. I didn’t see that as a loss—I saw it as the start of something bigger.
